Hot Spiced Apple Turmeric Cider

When I decided to make my first batch of spiced apple cider this year, I thought about what I was going to include in the recipe. I am a turmeric devotee, and I drink turmeric tea on a daily basis, so, I thought, why can’t I include some of that in my recipe? Since I couldn’t find any good answer to that question, I decided to add it to the mix. And, any more delicious, it could not be! Here is the recipe, if you’d like to give it a try yourself. I tend to like drinks that are not that sweet, so, this recipe does not have any extra sugar or honey. If you like that in your cider, you might want to play around with that part of it. Also, I tend to cook by intuition, and so, the amounts are approximate. So, take it and run with it, and create your own unique recipe.

Hot Spiced Apple Turmeric Cider 1 32 oz bottle of organic apple juice 1/2 cup unsweetened cranberry juice (I like the tartness of cranberry juice. If that’s too much for your palette, you can add less, or add the sweetened cranberry juice) Half of an orange, sliced Half of an apple, sliced 1/4 cup whole cranberries Sliced ginger to taste (again, I like a lot, so, I put a lot in mine, but, you can just put in as much as you generally enjoy) 2 Tbsp ground turmeric spice Tbsp of whole cloves Tbsp cinnamon Pour all ingredients into a Crock Pot and heat to boiling on high, then reduce heat to low, and simmer for 1 hour.
