Sauteed Pears with Bacon and Mustard Dressing

This recipe is pure decadence.

Serve as an appetizer or a dessert, or even as an hors d’oeuvre or a snack.  Super easy to make, it’s ready to serve in minutes.

Sauteed Pears with Bacon and Mustard Dressing

Ingredients

3-4 medium Bosc pears, sliced into 4-6 pieces, and seeds removed

3 thick slices of apple smoked bacon, cut into 1 inch squares

Dressing

1 Tbsp white wine vinegar

1 Tbsp whole grain mustard

4 Tbsp olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese or goat cheese (optional)

Preparation

Slice and de-seed the pears and set aside.

Cut bacon into 1 inch squares.

Cook bacon until golden and slightly crispy.

Remove bacon from grease.  Place on paper towel to soak up extra grease.

Keep enough grease in the skillet to cover the bottom with about 1/4 inch.

Place pears into bacon grease and cook on medium heat until all sides of the pears are cooked.

Remove pears and place onto plate or serving dish.

Whisk dressing ingredients and pour over the pears.

Add bacon over the top of pears, and then the cheese crumbles.

Serve warm.

Enjoy!
